June to October. Where did it go?
Over 5000 children and their families have watched many performances including Rhys & Meinr at Greenwood Forest park, The Secret Garden at Penrhyn Castle, Whistler's Woman, Anyone for Tennis, Wenna's Wheelbarrow & Beatrix Potter at Plas newydd.
300 primary school children took part in 'Those in Peril', a Theatre-in-Education programme funded by Welsh Museums to help local schools focus on Remembrance through hearing Maggie Woodall's story, the real life widow of a stoker who lost his life on the SS Connemara in 1916. Holyhead children are attentive, eager to learn and bright and I was proud to write and perform this story for them. Next month, it's the story of 'The Leinster', when we'll be doing it all again!
I'm working hard with the Arts Council on the Lead Creative Schools project, helping Ysgol Aberconwy to inspire a growth mindset among pupils by exploring dance and expressive movement and helping Ysgol Bryn Deva to explore literacy developent.
I've started work on our performance poetry piece with Bryn Seiont Dimentia Care Centre and am very happy to welcome Sian Miriam on board as my mentee from HelfaGelf. Look out for Sian in Community Arts circles, she's passionate, talented and very experienced. She's a joy to work with.

What a month! there's so much to catch up on, that i've popped it all here for you to read. Please get in touch if you have any questions about any of my projects, and i'll be happy to answer them for you.
I've been working with the Arts Council of Wales, to become a practitioner for the Lead Creative Schools programme to launch in Spetember. I've also been chatting to PONTIO and Venue Cymru about putting Performance squarely in the heart of the community.
'Miniature Magic' a Literacy & Numeracy programme that launches at Powis Castle in 2017, which will see two children form to 18th Century Paintings, climb out of their picture frames, and go on an adventure by night in the Castle. In partnership with the NT.
'Those in Peril' is a Theatre-in Education programme exploring the Maritime history of holyhead during the Great War. holyhead primary school children can expect to see this is September. In partnership with the Holyhead Maritime Museum.
'Wenna's Wheelbarrow' & 'Anyone for Tennis' will be performed in rep for Plas Newydd's new family programme, Tuesday Tales: Open Air Theatre.
The performances are fun, interactive and families also may learn a little about the history and heritage of Plas Newydd's outdoor spaces.
'Whistler's Woman', the indoor performance, continues to be performed, throughout the season (see news item below for dates) to audiences upwards of 400 a day.
Look out also for Beatrix Potter, who'll be at Plas Newydd telling her very own 'Squirrel Nutkin' in July and October.
'The Secret Garden' is being performed within the walls of Penrhyn Castle's walled graden through out the season too.
I'm so excited to be working with Creative Gwynedd this month also, and into 2017, as myself and the residents of Bryn Seiont Dimentia Care centre and Plas Maesincla Residential Home prepare to showcase new writing about the Sea and about childhood seaside holidays.
